I’ve recently been given the opportunity by a few clients to try out a side of photography that I haven’t really explored with as much: Family Photography. I did a few Family photo sessions and a Newborn photo session and I loved it! I won’t deny that I still have a lot more to learn to this side of photography, but I’m definitely up for the challenge and looking forward to this new chapter. I’ve uploaded a few images for this new side of my portfolio. Have fun viewing and don’t be shy to share on social media or leave any comments:D

A few months ago I had a competition for a special wedding photography package. The entrants had to submit their story of how they met or how he/she popped the question. When the time came to choose who the winner was, I couldn’t be more sure who it will be. Everyone’s story is special and unique in its own way, but I just had a connection with Natasha & Ivan’s story and I had no choice but to choose them:) So they won the wedding package special and I was lucky too, because I got to be a part of their special day:)

It was a beautiful day, and even though it rained, it just made the day even more amazing (and lucky;). And I was lucky enough to have this amazing couple who was up for anything (even #selfies and #photobombing!).

Have fun viewing the gallery and don’t be shy to share on Facebook!

Natasha’s beautiful dress was made by Es-Marie le Sueur from Le Sueur Couture and you can find her at https://www.facebook.com/LeSueurCouture

The venue of both the ceremony and reception took place at Bezweni Lodge, Sir Lowry’s Pass Village and you can contact them at http://www.bezweni.co.za

Since #tbt is so popular these days, I decided to do one too.. A year ago when I was living in Dubai, a very good friend of mine, Megan Landry, entered a competition. She had to make a video with a camera she got in the qualifying rounds to show why she wanted to be the next ultimate explorer. She was mainly doing it in support of her friend Richard Holland, who had a terrible cycling accident and who’s life changed in an instant.

She asked me to make the video and put it all together. At that time, I had no experience in film making or even where to begin putting a video together. But nonetheless, I took on the challenge and I discovered a whole new side to storytelling… Enjoy the movie!

So here it is, the first wedding of 2014:) I was invited to my friend’s wedding and they asked if I could take some extra photos for them on the day. I wasn’t the main photographer, but these are the images I managed to take of their beautiful wedding in Struisbaai on the 18th of January. It was the most perfect day and it was also the first wedding in this newly build church as you drive into Struisbaai. So enjoy! If you would like to see the full online gallery, please contact me for the link:)

Firstly, I apologise for being offline for a while, but I did it! I moved back to SA and I’m settled into my new home and ready for 2014!

I’m loving the new routine lifestyle. No more getting up at midnight to do a flight. And I barely have to set an alarm as I wake up naturally every morning at 7am. And waking up to the beautiful view of the Helderberg Mountain is a bonus:)

I can’t wait to share with you all my plans/projects for the next couple of months! I did a practice round at a friend’s wedding over the weekend and I’m so excited to be doing this full time. I’ll be uploading her photos soon.

The first project is a competition for all newly engaged couples…So watch my Facebook Page over the next couple of days for the details! The second project is giving basic hands-on Photography 101 lessons on how to use your newly bought SLR camera in all the other modes as well. So if you’re interested, please email or Facebook message me for more information.

And that’s a wrap on my first blog of 2014! So lets welcome the year with open arms! And remember, if you never try, you’ll never know:)
